How to Check Data Balance on Glo, MTN, Etisalat and Airtel SIMs.

In this post, we are going to learn how to check your Internet data subscription balance from major networks in Nigeria. Maybe you feel the need to know how much data remains on your phone, or you did like to check when your plan will expire.. Below is the list of major ISP and their data codes. 

           Please note that this post is for normal subscriptions which does not involve any special plans like Bonus data plans, Blackberry services and Special Data plans.

Checking ETISALAT Data Balance or Status:
Checking Etisalat data balance is very simple. Just dial *228# from your Etisalat SIM  or text Bal to 228 and you will receive a reply promptly. To check
Etisalat BIS, dial *228# too.


Checking GLO Data Balance or Status:

Checking Internet subscription data balance on your Glo can only be done through sending sms to the Glo data lines which are 777 & 127, Unfortunately to those that prefer using codes in checking their data balance Glo does not provide code for that so it means that data balance can only be checked using sms method which is sending Status to 777. 

Checking MTN Data Balance or Status:

Checking data balance on MTN is simple and straightforward, you can use various codes and sms provided by MTN which are:

    >>> For Mobile Plan, Text 2 to 131

    >>> For MTN SME Data, Dial *691*7# or Text sharebalance to 131

    >>> For MTN BIS code, Text Status to 21600

To check all the data balance including the Various Bonus Data Bonus and social plans from MTN, dial *559*2# - You will see your data balance on the screen.

Checking AIRTEL Data Balance or Status:

To check Airtel Mobile data, dial the following codes

   >>>  *141*11*0#
   >>> *123*10#
   >>> *141*712*0#

To check Airtel BIS: Text Status to 440 or dial *123*9#
